The movie was made by Marc Forster in 2004. He is from Germany and
43 year-old man. I was surprised for me to be made the movie by so young
director. Mr. Marc was born in Illertissen in the Neu-Ulm district of Bavaria.
He stayed in Switzerland. His father, Wolf Forster is doctor. His mother, Ulli
Forster is architect. They have three children and Mr. Marc is the youngest of
three children in the family. Why he thought that he wants to be a director is
the reason. He watched the movie in the theater at first time when he was
twenty years old. The movie is Apocalypse Now made by Francis Ford Coppola. The
movie based on Heart of Darkness written by Joseph Conrad. It was written about
the Vietnam War. When he was 20 years old, he went to America. He studied movie
in New York College for three years and he moved in Hollywood after three years
past. He made the movie which is called Loungers with low cost and he received
a prize, Slamdance Audience Award. His first movie, Everything Put Together was
nominated for Grand Jury Prize in Sundance Film Festival. Four years ago, he
was nominated for Golden Globe Awards with Finding Neverland.
Why I choose the movie is a simple reason.
I like Peter Pan. So I watched two movies. At first I explain to Finding Neverland.
The story is
based on the life of Sir James Matthew Barrie. My favorite scene is the bear which
is named Porthtos. He is dog but Barrie said he is bear. He plays the part of clown.
Just believing makes a real world. The scene has beautiful image. The shot is
change and change. The movie has the scene of park one after luxurious hall. I
like the changing. It is strange and beautiful so I watched the scene again and
again. Barrie says to Peter that Just believing. Have just a little imagination.
I like the words. I think that it is the starting point of the Peter Pan. The
last scene has a same line. The part of Peter Pan said if you believe a fairy,
clap your hands. It is representative his belief. The other my favorite scene
is very short. It is the latter half scene; the old woman appears on the movie.
After she went to see the play, she said to Barrie that It’s all of the world
ticking crocodile listening. Time chases around for us. The line has deep mean.
I think that ticking crocodile is the key which get to the heart of a death.
Neverland is symbol like Eden. In the end of the movie, Sylvia goes to never
land alone.
“The secret of
happiness is not in doing what one likes, but in liking what one does.”
It is Barrie’s
words. He lost his brother when he was child. His mother had deep sad. So he
starved for affection from his mother. In this movie, he said he wore his
brother’s clothe because he wanted to be loved by mother. Why Peter does not
grow up? I find myself thinking about it. In the movie of Peter Pan, there is
such line.
"Well, a
mother, a real mother is the most wonderful person in the world. She's the
angel voice that bids you good night, kisses your cheek, whispers, "sleep
tight"."
I went on to
watch Peter Pan. The movie was produced by Walt Disney in 1953. The original story
was written by Sir James Matthew Barrie. I want to read Peter Pan in the
original. It is very humorous and good old. I watched it for a long time. All
of the characters are loved by many people. Their action looks like humanity. I
like Peter Pan the best but other character is so cute.
"Tink, are
you all right? Wendy? The boys? But I've got to save your first. Hold on, Tink,
hold on. Don't go out. Don't you understand Tink? You mean more to me than
anything in this whole world."
It is one of my
favorite lines in the Peter Pan. I think that he does not fall in love with
Wendy. There is not eternal with Wendy. She will grow up someday but Peter
never grown up. Tink does not like Wendy. Her action was animated by jealousy.
He helps her for dear life. I was greatly touched by them tie. I think that
Tinker Bell is just like a girl. I touch a chord with her jealousy. I think so
too that the person I like bring a girl to secret base. Tinker Bell was exiled from
there but she helps Peter for dear her life. She likes him very much. I like
the sound too. When she walks and fly, I can hear clear sound. There is effect
of sound in the movie. I can notice it is a Disney just I listen the music. I
like it very much. I love Peter Pan’s songs so I had borrowed the sound truck. You
can fly is the most popular song in this movie. When I visited London, I went
to Big Ben in the night. It is so beautiful and I remembered the scene which
Peter is on the needle of the clock. I wanted to go to Neverland preferably.
There are pirates and Captain Hook. He is
villain but little charming. He is afraid of the crocodile. He has a weakness
so he is fun. One of the pirates, Mr. Smee is interesting guy. He goes him way.
I think that he wonder stronger than Captain Hook. Him behavior caused me to
laugh. He shoots and hits Captain Hook. Any other can do it.
There are native
people like an aborigine. They are red face. The reason is interesting. For the
old time the first native people kissed his wife. Then them face is been red.
The thing is song by rugged men. It is strange for me but I like it. If there
is such a place, I wanted to go there.
