“on October 12, 1492, the new world―and the old― changed for all time.”(p.18)
This story happened long ago. It started in Europe, in the countries of Spain and Italy. It then goes across the Atlantic Ocean to a “new world.” In 1400s a lot of people in the world thought that the earth was flat. Christopher Columbus decided that he wanted to find a new sea rout from Europe to Asia. He knew that the earth was round. I think it is amazing for the people in those days. He made King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella agree to receive enough money by talking to them a lot about it. I knew it because I learned in my high school history class. He arrived at the America. He bought gold, parrots, and other things from the New World to show the king and queen. How did they feel then? I am interested to think about it.
